PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for punching a green sheet, which method can surely drop sheet chips downward produced by small diameter punch pins without sticking them to the die, and further to provide a punching apparatus to be used for the same method. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for punching the green sheet includes a die 7 in which upper ends of a plurality of receiving holes 8 are opened in a product area (a) on the surface thereof, a plurality of punch pins 4 which can vertically move so as to individually intrude into a plurality of the receiving holes 8 in the die 7, an elastic body 9 which is formed on the back face side of a plurality of the receiving holes 8 in the die 7, and has concentric through-holes 10 having a diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the respective receiving holes 8 and the outside diameter of the respective punch pins 4, and air nozzles 12 for jetting high pressure air A from above to the product area (a) including a plurality of the receiving holes 8 on the surface of the die 7.
