<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevated refuge place from a tsunami, which enables inhabitants near a shore to take rapid refuge on the occurrence of the tsunami, which enables even an aged person, a child, etc. to take the easy and rapid refuge, which enables necessary goods such as foods to be supplied to refugees in a high place, and which enables the refugees take the refuge to another safe place in an emergency. <P>SOLUTION: This elevated the refuge place from the tsunami comprises a support which is driven into the ground, a refuge base which is supported at a predetermined height from the ground by the support, and an ascending/descending means which can move up and down between a ground surface and the refuge base.
