Crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite for high octane petrol prodn This zeolite, for improving the octane number of a reforming product, is formed by crystallisation from a soln contg. organic cations so that it contains organic cations, and has a silica/alumina ratio of >15:1, and pores of such a size that it absorbs methyl-paraffins. The zeolite is used to produce high octane petrol so reducing or eliminating the use of the lead derivs and avoiding atmospheric pollution. The zeolite has a high selectivity, and give high yields of high octane petrol by converting n-paraffins into alkylaromatics.
