A material for making electrodes, and for recharging them, is obtained by mixing the following in powder form: Fe (97.2 - 92.1); graphite (0.5 - 0.8); ferro-manganese (0.7 - 1.0); ferrosilicon (0.4 - 0.8); ferrochrome (5.0 - 7.0); ferromolybdenum (0.9 - 1.4); containing 0.4 - 1.2 of Ni (all proportions in wt.%). Specif. a sintered band is manufactured from this mixture.
