1,238,510. Filter press. FILTROX-MASCHINENBAU A.G. 5 Sept., 1968 [8 Sept., 1967], No. 42377/68. Heading BID. A filter press comprises filter plates clamped between end plates 2 by a pair of open-ended frames 5, which are urged together by tightening wing-nuts 8 on four rods 7. Frames 5 are of channel cross-section and engage end plates 2 by their inturned flanges 5e. Rods 7 are secured to blocks 6a and extend through blocks 6b, the blocks being welded to the frames. Plates 2 and frames 5 are of stainless steel, and dimensions are exemplified. The press is mounted at one end on a two-wheeled sub-frame (not shown). The lower rods 7 support the filter plates from beneath and the upper rods 7 engage their side edges, enabling the filter plates to be lifted out when nuts 8 are slackened.
