<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of checking the total calories of own ingested meal at any time, and capable of forming a database for assisting health care, by mounting a measurement function for checking total calories of meals on a normally carried information equipment, such as cellular phones and personal digital assistants. <P>SOLUTION: The cellular phone 10 is provided with a near-infrared source 13, a near-infrared camera 14 and a processing means 16 for imaging foods or a meal menu under illumination by the near-infrared source 13, by the near-infrared camera 14, and by conducting image-processing and integration-processing acquired near-infrared image data, to calculate the total calories in the foods or the meal menu.
