PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for storing image data with which the image data to be compressed in a frame is properly selected when the image data is stored by compressing it by compression in frame or compression between frames using a plurality of imaging apparatuses to be mutually asynchronous. SOLUTION: In the image data storage method for creating and storing compression image data with which pieces of image data sequentially outputted from each imaging apparatus are compressed by selecting them in any of the compression in frame or the compression between frames using a plurality of imaging apparatuses each of which is mutually asynchronous and which outputs the pieces of image data at prescribed time intervals based on timers of each, one piece of the image data from each imaging apparatus is stored by performing the compression in frame for every imaging apparatus whenever the image data from any one imaging apparatus reaches the prescribed number.
