<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape recording and reproducing method and device capable of recording and reproducing data without errors and with less tracking errors of the recording and reproducing head even when the magnetic tape width changes and meeting the requirement for a high density recording. <P>SOLUTION: The tension of the magnetic tape is controlled to minimize the absolute value of deviations between the above pair of servo heads and their corresponding servo tracks at both of recording and reproducing data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
