Phosphate-base phosphors, esp. suitable for high-pressure mercury vapour lamps, contg. 3-15% (pref. 5-10%) of Al2O3, SiO2 or TiO2, are improved by using an oxide contg. 2-8% of bound water and having a particle size of 0.1-1 mu (max 2 mu). The adherence of the phosphor to the substrate is improved, and drop in effectiveness is reduced. |
