[Also in Division F4] A suspension device such as a lighting fixture, comprises a mounting element 1 to be secured to a ceiling or wall 2, and a body 5 in which the body is held relative to the mounting element by a pin or bolt 3 having an enlarged head 4, the pin or bolt being engaged with the mounting element and the body abutting on the head of the pin or bolt to hold the body captive but spaced from the mounting element, the body incorporating a resilient tongue projecting away from the mounting element for engagement with the pin or bolt to hold the body flush against the mounting element when the body is pushed against the mounting element. In the arrangement shown resilient tongues 10 are attached to an apertured web, 8 which spans a channel section body part 5 carrying a fluorescent tube 7. The aperture in the web is key-hole shaped to permit the part 5 being suspended on the bolt prior to the part 5 being moved into its final position. In another arrangement, Figs. 3-10 (not shown), the tongue is replaced by a catch element (33) comprising tongues (20) connected by an apertured web (21) and terminating in ends (25) having opposed projections (26). Slots (27) in the tongues (20) cooperate with a web (31) spanning a channel shaped main port (30), and a bolt (36) a head (40) of which cooperates with the element (33), is carried by a threaded portion (37), the arrangement being such that the bolt may be tightened after the port (30) has been moved into fastened position in which the catch element engages the head of 'the bolt. |
