PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a fine particle dispersion containing a phosphorescent organometal complex and a useful organic EL element material comprising the dispersion, and to provide an organic EL element exhibiting a high external quantum efficiency and having a long emission life and a low driving voltage by using the organic EL element material, and an illumination apparatus and a display. SOLUTION: The fine particle dispersion contains the phosphorescent organometal complex. In the fine particle dispersion, the phosphorescent organometal complex is included in a clathrate compound thereby forming a composite. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
