PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boring machine for allowing diversion, and capable of reducing tunnel construction cost, without largely changing a position of an underground structure to be constructed. SOLUTION: This boring machine 10 excavates the ground G so that a cross section of a tunnel becomes a rectangular cross section. The boring machine 10 has a cutter head 11, and a boring machine body 12 having a rectangular cross section for forming a chamber CH by arranging a rectangular partition wall 13 in the rear of the cutter head 11. A second earth removal port 13B is arranged on one long edge side of the partition wall 13, and a first earth removal port 13A is arranged on one short edge side of the partition wall 13.
