FRICTION DAMPER DEVICE FOR A WASHING MACHINE

The housing (1) of a washing machine contains a friction damper device (29) for a washing unit (2) comprising a lye container (3), a washing drum (4) which is rotationally mounted in the lye container (3) and a drive (5) for the washing drum (4). The washing unit (2) is supported in an elastic manner by at least one damper (8) counter to a lower frame part (9) of the housing (1). In order to prevent the vibratory behaviour of the oscillating unit (2) from being influenced above the rotational speed of the resonance, the friction in the damper (8) above the rotational speed of the resonance can be reduced. As a result, at least one friction covering (16, 31, 35) which interacts directly on a piston rod (10) of the damper (8) is pretensed by an energy store (14) counter to the piston rod (10) and can be displaced away from the piston rod (10) by activating an actuator (20).
