PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting structure to serve for reinforcing the body of a bumper stay of transversely crushing type with a shaft member in tubular shape, capable of preventing the shaft member from making dislocation etc. by fixing the two members certainly without bringing about extra increase of the weight. SOLUTION: The bumper stay 20 is formed so that the shaft member 22 in tubular shape consisting of an extruded material of aluminum alloy is fixed to a hollow member 21 consisting of extruded material of aluminum alloy. The hollow member 21 is composed of a first flange 23 and a second flange 24 having respective mounting parts 28 and 32 to other members and a pair of ribs 25 and 26, and holes 29 and 33 whereto the shaft member 22 is fixed are formed in the central parts of the flanges. The shaft member 22 is inserted through the holes 29 and 33 to be subjected to electromagnetic forming to be bulged, and the two ends are in tight attachment to the inside surfaces of the holes 29 and 33. The forefront parts protruding from the holes 29 and 30 spread in the radial direction (spread parts 37 and 38), and the central part pinched by the first and second flanges is overhung (overhang part 39).
