PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake rotor having together with more excellent corrosion resistance than the conventional rotor while having the strength, workability, warpage resiatance and wear resistance, at a low cost. SOLUTION: This disk brake rotor has the chemical composition composed by mass% of 0.01-0.10% C, 0.2-1.0% Si,≤2.0% Mn,≤0.06% P,≤0.01% S, 0.5-7.0% Ni, >15.0 to 20.0% Cr, 0.005-0.10% N and if necessary, either one or both of 2.0% Cu and 2.0% Mo, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, and adjusted so as to become≥50γmax value defined withγmax =420C-11.5Si+7Mn+23Ni-11.5Cr-12Mo+9Cu+470N+189 and further, raises the temperature from a room temperature to 600±10°C, at 50±5°C/sec, and after cooling at≥100°C/sec cooling speed, immediately after reaching to 600±10°C, this rotor is shown as≥280Hv hardness at the room temperature and as the structure of≤20 pieces/1000nm of grain boundary length to the distributing quantity of carbonitride having≥50nm grain diameter in the grain boundary.
