PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbocharger with an electric motor capable of cooling effectively. SOLUTION: This turbocharger 1 with the electric motor is the turbocharger 1 incorporating the electric motor 7 for using a rotary shaft 6 of a turbine/compressor 4, 5 as an output shaft. This turbocharger is provided with an exhaust side cooling liquid passage 10 arranged close to a turbine wheel 5 of the rotary shaft 6 and a motor side cooling liquid passage 11 arranged around the motor 7. The exhaust side cooling liquid passage 10 and the motor side cooling liquid passage 11 are arranged in a cooling liquid flow passage in series, and the motor side cooling liquid passage 11 is arranged on the upstream side more than the exhaust side cooling liquid passage 10.
