Equipment (5) includes one or more guide tubes (2) for glass fibre microcable(s) (1), integratable into, or located on building infrastructure, into which cable is reversibly insertable. On cable free end (12), opposite its free end (11) for inserting, are located optical plug elements (3). Elements are either prefabricated with cable, or glass fibres (9), or fitted to them subsequently. Preferably, optical plug elements are designed to couple light into individual glass fibres of cable. Guide tube engagement may be assisted by gaseous medium.
