<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illicit access by selectively limiting accesses from a host to storage areas LU in a storage subsystem, and provide a method therefor capable of minimizing an overhead caused in determining the propriety of access, and performing the determination in a condition only within the range of a standard fiber channel protocol. <P>SOLUTION: An access propriety table relating N_Port_name or Node_Name of the host with the LU in the storage subsystem (1301) and a relevant table relating S_ID which is assigned at the time of log-in by the host with the LU (1302) are formed and held.
