PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hopper for charging raw materials, capable of reliably charging raw materials such as scrap into an underlying container without blocking up the hopper. SOLUTION: The hopper 1 for charging raw materials has a main body 2 whose upper end 3 is widely opened and which has at its lower end an opening 10 for charging raw materials. The main body 2 includes an upper side inclined portion 4 and a lower side inclined portion 6, to which an inclineθ1 and an inclineθ2 at an angle of 30-45 deg. are given upwardly with respect to a horizontal line, respectively.
