PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a semiconductor device capable of accurately detecting a current flowing through a driver transistor using a monitor transistor, and to obtain a voltage regulator using the semiconductor device. SOLUTION: There is provided a monitor transistor M11 formed with a plurality of PMOS transistors Q1 to Q4 connected in parallel with a driver transistor M1 in order to detect a current flowing through the driver transistor M1. In a semiconductor chip 21, regions AQ1 to AQ4 where the respective PMOS transistors Q1 to Q4 are formed are disposed around or in a region AM1 where the driver transistor M1 is formed.
