BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL ADD/DROP MULTIPLEXER AND RING NETWORK IN BIDIRECTIONAL WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING SYSTEM USING

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost bidirectional optical add/drop multiplexer, the number of whose components is reduced and a ring network in a bidirectional wavelength division multiplexing system that uses it.

SOLUTION: The bidirectional optical add/drop multiplexer includes a first filter which reflects a first optical signal out of forward optical signals which are add inputted and makes the passage of the rest of the forward optical signals, a second filter which reflects a second optical signal out of inputted backward optical signals and makes passage of the rest of the backward optical signals, a first optical splitter which combines the first optical signal and the forward optical signals, by outputting the reflected second optical signal to a second drop terminal and outputting the first optical signal inputted from a first add terminal to the first filter and a second optical splitter which combines the second optical signal and the backward optical signals by outputting the reflected first optical signal to a first drop terminal and outputting the second optical signal inputted from a second add terminal to the second filter.
