<p>The invention relates to a protein having high affinity to myeloproliferative leukemia receptor (MPL) and the nucleotide sequence encoding it. The protein increases the platelet in vivo and makes blood clotting faster. From that point of view, the protein of the present invention is called platelet promoting protein (PPP). The protein and the nucleotide sequence can be used to treat thrombocytopenia.</p>
