PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide color photographic photosensitive material excellent in color reproducibility, image preservability and suitability to rapid processing, and a method of image forming. SOLUTION: The silver halide color photographic photosensitive material has on a support at least one of each of photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers respectively containing yellow, magenta and cyan dye forming couplers and at least one non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer, wherein at least one dye forming coupler-containing photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer contains a dye forming coupler capable of forming an azomethine dye whose solubility in ethyl acetate is in the range of 1×10<SP>-8</SP>-5×10<SP>-3</SP>mol/l by reaction with the oxidized body of an aromatic primary amine compound, and at least one selected from the group consisting of a specific compound, a metal complex and an ultraviolet absorber, and wherein the ratio of the dye forming coupler to a total lipophilic component in the dye forming coupler-containing emulsion layer is set to 18-99 mass%.
