PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which suppresses the increase in transmembrane pressure difference by supplying the necessary amount of a chemical or determining the immersion time of a filtration membrane when the reversal washing of the filtration membrane is performed by the addition of the chemical. SOLUTION: A water treatment method using the filtration membrane comprises a process A for performing the reversal washing of the filtration membrane by the addition of the chemical, a process B for measuring the transmembrane pressure difference after passing a prescribed time in membrane filtration treatment after performing the reversal washing by the addition of the chemical, and a process C for presetting the increase/decrease magnification of added chemical or the increase/decrease amount of the added chemical based on a difference between the measured transmembrane pressure difference and the prescribed transmembrane pressure difference or on the increasing rate of the difference between the above transmembrane pressure differences, and controlling the amount of the chemical added during the reversal washing by the addition of the chemical performed after the process A to a value obtained by multiplying the amount of the added chemical in the process A by the above increase/decrease magnification or a value obtained by adding the above increase/decrease amount of the added chemical to the amount of the added chemical in the process A.
