<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a singly coiled coil-shaped carbon fiber capable of exhibiting characteristics such as elasticity caused by the singly coiled coil, and to provide a method for producing the coil-shaped carbon fiber with high yield and a touch sensor element using the carbon fiber and having high detectability. <P>SOLUTION: The singly coiled coil-shaped carbon fiber 10 has 0.01-50 μm diameter D of the coil 11, 0.01-10 μm pitch P of the coil 11, and 0.1-10 mm length X of the coil 11. The singly coiled coil-shaped carbon fiber 10 is produced by using particles of ironic metal stuck to a ceramic substrate obtained by rubbing the ironic metal on the ceramic substrate as a catalyst, arranging the catalyst in a reaction vessel, feeding a raw material gas forming carbon by being thermally decomposed, and a gas for accelerating the reaction to the reaction vessel, and heating the reaction vessel to carry out the thermal decomposition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
