<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which can form an image with successful legibility, high density, excellent water-resistant laundering properties and excellent dry cleaning resistance in a transfer medium, and a thermal transfer recording method using the thermal transfer recording medium and a recording object to which an image is transferred using the thermal transfer recording method. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer recording medium, a thermal transfer layer contains a polyester resin with a polar group and a heat-fusing substance.
