PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thick thermoplastic resin foamed sheet having a high expansion ratio. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the thermoplastic resin foamed sheet includes a process (1) for heating and softening a thermoplastic resin foamed sheet 1 using a mold A4 capable of drawing a vacuum from the molding surface of a mold in a vacuum forming method and a mold B5 wherein a sheet fixing member is provided to at least the outer edge part of the molding surface, a process (2) for supplying the thermoplastic resin foamed sheet obtained in the process (1) to the gap between the molds A and B, a process (3) for closing both molds until the clearance between both molds in the outer edge part of the molding surface becomes the thickness of the sheet or below while holding the heated and softened thermoplastic resin foamed sheet between the molds to bring the whole surface of the molding surface of the mold B into contact with the surface of the foamed sheet, a process (4) for starting the drawing of a vacuum from the molding surface of the mold A after the whole surface of the molding surface of the mold B is brought into contact with the foamed sheet in the process (3), a process (5) for opening the molds until the sheet between the molding surfaces becomes a desired molded product thickness while continuing the drawing of a vacuum to shape the sheet and a process (6) for stopping the drawing of a vacuum and opening the molds to take out a molded product.
