PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a night vision device to be mounted in a vehicle capable of actuating a display certainly only when the driver wishes its being actuated. SOLUTION: The night vision device 1 to be mounted in the vehicle includes the display (HUD 5) which is installed on an instrument panel in such a way as emerging and retracting and displays the image picked up by an infrared camera 2, and is equipped with an illuminance sensor 3 to sense the extra-vehicle illuminance and emit a dark signal when the sensed illuminance is equal to or below the specified value, whereby a start command is given to the display when the emission of the dark signal continues for the specified time and a lighting signal for the headlight is emitted.
