PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image management system, image managing device and image managing method which in advance notify a user of erasure of images stored in a server and enable the user to easily perform extension procedures for a retention period. SOLUTION: When an image processor scans an original, the user is urged to input conditions for managing images such as whether to notify image erasure in advance and a notification destination of the image erasure, and this image managing device manages image data together with the conditions. When a retention period approaches, the user is notified of erasure of the images by e-mail, and the user handles this notification as return mail to thereby update the retention period.
