PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce directivity in radiation characteristics of an antenna device, and also to improve the convenience of mobile wireless equipment using the antenna device, regarding the antenna device and the mobile wireless equipment using the same. SOLUTION: Two antenna elements are properly switched as a balanced antenna or an unbalanced antenna by a switch circuit. The shape of a bottom board is formed into a macroscopically rectangular shape. One side of the bottom board in which the two antenna elements are provided side by side is made as a short side. The length of the short side is set as (a), the length of a long side as (b), the wavelength corresponding to a fundamental setting frequency of the first and the second antenna elements asλ<SB>1</SB>, the wavelength corresponding to the highest frequency in available frequency bands of the first and the second antenna elements asλ<SB>2</SB>, the electric length of the first and the second antenna elements asθ, and the physical length of the first and the second antenna elements as L.
