The mechanism has a locking operation units (4) for releasing the locking of a vehicle door. The operation units are arranged on an unit e.g. cover (1) of a cylinder lock, which is separated from a door handle (2). The cover is arranged in such a manner that the locking operating units are operated with a thumb of a hand. The handle has an analyzing unit (6) for analyzing the operation of the locking operating units.
