<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce an image suitable to each scene by reproducing appearance impressions of an object image when photographing the object or observing the transparent image of a color reversal film on a photographic print and a monitor display screen. <P>SOLUTION: Appearance conversion processing for appearance coincidence between an object image and its reproduced image is constituted of at least one between contrast conversion and saturation conversion for converting a colorimetric value of the object image on the basis of a chromatic value in the case of adaptation luminance higher than adaptation luminance calculated from a first observation condition for illuminating the object image or the object, color adaptation correction and contrast correction for correcting the obtained converted colorimetric value by using the first observation condition and the second observation condition of the reproduced image, and flare correction of the corrected colorimetric value. At least one processing of these conversions and corrections includes a plurality of conversion processes with different conversion intensity, one conversion process is selected in accordance with the object image, and appearance conversion processing is carried out by using the selected conversion process to thereby reproduce the image suitable to each scene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
