PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital TV receiver in which a user does not feel that a viewing time is substantially restricted even if a full frequency scan operation that requires a long time is carried out and a degree of restricting the viewing time for the user is reduced by shortening the time itself required for scanning all frequencies (all channels). SOLUTION: In timing when a power source is turned off by remote control operation (S31), full frequency scan operation is started (S32) and when the full frequency scan operation is stopped, a latest receiving channel with a determined optimal receiving direction at that time point is stored in a memory m*. A latest receiving direction in which the detection of reception signal strength is completed is stored in a memory n* (S33) and when the full frequency scan operation is started again by turning off the power source again, the full frequency scan operation is started again from a receiving channel next to the stored receiving channel and a receiving direction next to the stored receiving direction.
