The invention relates to a device (1) combining different device categories with different operation modes each having different preferred user interface modes comprising: a user interface comprising a keypad (8) with a number of keys and a display (4). In accordance with the invention, a control unit is arranged to control the user interface in dependence of a selected operation mode of the device such that different device categories are combined without compromising the traditional UI orientation and key placements for the individual device categories .
