PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease a bubble generation rate by reducing characteristic variation among head chips. SOLUTION: The centers of heating elements 12 are arranged in an alternate (staggered) manner on a straight line L1 and on a straight line L2 provided at an intervalδbetween the straight lines L1 and L2 in parallel with the straight line L1. A liquid chamber 13a is formed in an almost recessed planar shape in such a manner as to surround the three sides of the heating element 12, and the plurality of heating elements 12 are arranged with a constant pitch P in the directions of the straight lines L1 and L2. The liquid chamber 13a on the straight line L1 and the liquid chamber 13a on the straight line L2 are arranged in such a manner that opening parts face each other. A gap Wx is formed between the liquid chambers 13a on the straight line L2, and a gap Wy is formed between the liquid chamber 13a on the straight line L1 and the liquid chamber 13a on the straight line L2.
