PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal device such as a portable telephone capable of automatically changing functions and setting modes in accordance with an outside situation and to provide a function setting changing method of the terminal device for communication and its program. SOLUTION: This terminal device 10 for communication has a situation change detecting means 17 for detecting a change in an outside situation and transmitting an outside situation change detection signal, and a control means 11 for reading a prescribed function and/or setting stored in a storage means 20 and changing functions and/or setting by receiving the outside situation change detection signal.
