PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce the flavor and taste of retort-pouched food similar to those just after the manufacture in a short period of time regardless of the shape or content of the retort-pouched food. SOLUTION: The retort-pouched food R is put in a sealed chamber 1, and compressed air is fed by a pressurizing means 2 into the sealed chamber 1 with a sealing door 1a closed so that the air pressure in the whole chamber is increased. At the time, the retort-pouched food R in the sealed chamber 1 is heated by a heating means 3 while the food is sealed and packed. The operation of the pressurizing means 2 is controlled by a control means 4 according to the temperature rise of the retort-pouched food R by the heating means 3. As a result, even if air inside the sealed package R2 is expanded and the internal pressure is increased, the pressure inside the sealed chamber 1 is also increased according to the increase of the internal pressure, and the internal/external pressure is balanced.
