A nucleoside analogue which enables the production of an oligonucleotide analogue excellent in three properties, i.e., nuclease resistance, duplex forming ability, and stability of the duplex formed; and an oligonucleotide analogue containing the nucleocide analogue. The nucleocide analogue is one represented by the following formula (I) or a salt thereof. The oligonucleotide analogue contains one or more members selected from the group consisting of the nucleocide analogue represented by the following formula (II-1), the nucleocide analogue represented by the following formula (II-2), the nucleocide analogue represented by the following formula (II-3), the nucleocide analogue represented by the following formula (II-4), and the nucleocide analogue represented by the following formula (II-5).
