PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil for electromagnetic forming, which coil is excellent in the durability, and can be repeatedly used, and has a high strength of a core. SOLUTION: The diameter of the core 2 between its tip end portion 12 and its base end portion 13 is a little smaller than that of the tip end portion 12. Square conductive wires 3, 4 having hollow portions 5, 6 formed therein in which a cooling medium flows are wound on the small diameter portion of the core 2 such that the square conductive wires 3, 4 come into contact with the surface of the core 2 and neighbor with each other. Further, an insulation resinoid layer 7 is provided so as to cover the conductive wires 3, 4. When the electromagnetic forming is carried out, the cooling medium is introduced from the end portion 3a of the conductive wire 3 and the end portion 4b of the conductive wire 4, and is discharged from the end portion 3b of the conductive wire 3 and the end portion 4a of the conductive wire 4.
