PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly perform operation up to unlocking of a crescent from a release of a sub-lock by one hand, in a crescent lock having a sub-lock mechanism for automatically operating so as to check the rotational movement of the crescent in locking. SOLUTION: The sub-lock mechanism 10 is composed of a rotary piece 11 connected to a rotary shaft 4 of an operation lever 6 and a sub-lock operation piece 13 slidably arranged between a rotational movement checking position of this rotary piece 11 and a rotational movement allowing position for allowing the rotational movement of the rotary piece 11 by separating from the rotary piece 11 and energized in the rotary piece 11 side direction by an energizing means. The sub-lock operation pierce 13 has a first engaging member 13C for temporarily holding the sub-lock operation piece 13 in the rotational movement allowing position when moved to the rotational movement allowing position, and a second engaging member 13D for releasing a temporary hold of the sub-lock operation piece 13 by butting a part of the rotary piece 11 when rotatably operating the operation lever 6 in a state of being held in this rotational movement allowing position.
