NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (X, Y and Z are H, halogen, CF3, lower alkyl, lower alkylcarbonyl, lower alkylsulfonyl, nitro or lower alkoxycarbonyl). EXAMPLE:1-Fluoromethylpyrazole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester. USE:An intermediate for herbicide and fungicide. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a fluorination agent (preferably cesium fluoride/18- crown-6/fluoromethanesulfonyl) in a solvent (e.g. THF, acetonitrile, etc.) at a temperature between room temperature and the refluxing temperature of the solvent.
