The apparatus has a semiconductor laser output controller (110) that switches between single and multi pulse beams. A sampling processor (140) acquires an emitted light intensity level of a detected light beam as a sampling. A subtractor (143) calculates error between stored target and the acquired sampling values. A controller (180) based on the error controls the output intensity level. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a light beam emission control method (b) a recording medium wherein a light beam emission control program is recorded.
