NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 together form formula II, R3 is OH; R4 is CHCl2 or R3 and R4 together with carbon atom at the 2-position form formula III or R1 and R3 link so that the bond between the 1- and 2-positions may represent double bond; R2 is CCl3; R4 is CHO), i.e. KS-504A expressed by formula IV, KS-504d expressed by formula V and KS-504e expressed by formula VI. USE:A vasodilator (504A and 504d) and antiallergic agent (504e). PREPARATION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Mollisia and having the ability to produce KS-504s, e.g. Mollisia.ventosa KAC-1148 strain (FERM P-No. 1333) is inoculated into a culture medium to produce and accumulate the KS-504s in the resultant culture. The formed KS-504s are then collected from the above-mentioned culture. |
