The system has a braking circuit (10) with a master cylinder (11) controlled by a brake pedal (12). A braking circuit (20) has a pedal travel simulator (40) with a solenoid valve (62) which is mounted in a conduit (63), containing a hydraulic fluid, connected to a hydraulic fluid storage chamber. The conduit connects an outlet (15) of the cylinder to a brake fluid tank (38) supplying the cylinder and constituting the chamber. The opening of the solenoid valve is controlled by a programmed logic controller (C) to allow the passage of the hydraulic fluid towards the chamber when the brake pedal (12) is actuated by a driver.
