PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens holder having a novel structure in which an optical pickup can be thinned, even in the objective lens driving device of a symmetrical structure. SOLUTION: The objective lens holder is divided into an upper member (50) and a lower member (55). A winding coil is used, as a tracking coil and a tilting coil. The structure is adopted, which does not wind one focusing coil around the objective lens holder, but which winds two focusing coils around the objective lens holder, symmetrically with respect to the optical axis of laser light. Apertures (505, 553) for passing the laser light are provided to the objective lens holder. Accordingly, the laser light does not pass below the lower surface of the objective lens holder, but passes through the apertures (505, 553) in the objective lens holder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
