<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that service life determination in consideration of a use environment is not performed by a conventional method for automatically performing service life determination on an operating time base, and that the service life determination is not accurate as a result. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic equipment product of a customer stores and periodically transmits an operating time and use environment data to a service life management center. A life management center is provided with a means for managing a customer DB(database) storing part including the personal information of a customer and the identification of an electronic equipment product, a service life DB storing part for storing the life time of each product identification, an operating status DB storing part for storing the residual life of the electronic equipment product of each customer and a product DB storing part for storing a product model number and functions and performance. This life management center is also provided with a means for receiving an operating time and a use environment, and for referring to and updating the operating status DB storing part for making life determination, a means for referring to the product DB storing part when the electronic equipment comes to the end of its service life, and for selecting a product including the same functions and having equivalent performance or more, and for transmitting the product and customer information.
