<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming material which enables drawing by infrared laser exposure and excels in image visibility, storage stability and white light stability and an original plate of a lithographic printing plate of an on-press development type or a nontreatment (nondevelopment) type which has a high sensitivity and a high plate wear resistance and excels in the image visibility, on-press developability, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming material has an image recording layer enabling drawing by the infrared layer exposure and forms a color image without undergoing a developing process after image recording. The image recording layer contains: (A) an infrared absorption agent; (B) a cyclic developable compound having a cyclic structure in a molecule and forming a coloring matter by ring opening; and (C) a coloring matter stabilizing agent which is a compound interacting with the cyclic developable compound and stabilizing and developing the coloring matter having the ring opened and of which the interaction is canceled, with the developability lowered, by the laser exposure.
