PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone unit and a function limitation cancellation method of the portable telephone unit capable of improving both security performance and usability for a user. SOLUTION: The portable telephone unit 10 capable of limiting the use of a prescribed function or canceling the use limitation by the input of a prescribed lock number comprises: a storage means 40 for storing a plurality of lock numbers; a display means 42 for requesting the input of the lock number; and a control means 36 for controlling the display means 42 so as to display the request of the input of the plurality of lock numbers stored in the storage means 40 at the display means 42 without canceling the use limitation of the prescribed function when numbers other than the lock numbers stored in the storage means 40 are inputted for a prescribed number of times or more and then the lock number is inputted.
