PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die device for a press capable of using a work holding pad by providing the cushion function even when any cushioning function is not provided on a press side, and enhancing the versatility. SOLUTION: In the die device 11 for the press, the die device 11 (a cushion non-provided die device 11C) is constituted of a die body 12, a pad body 14 and a pressure transmitting rod 18 in a second press 17 having a cushion means 26, and the die device 11 (a cushion provided die device 11P) is constituted of the die body 12, the pad body 14 and the cushion device 16 in a first press having no cushion means 26. The cushion device 16 controls the pressure by the movement of the pad body 14.
