PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP telephone capable of transferring the message of a transmitter to the IP telephone of a call destination or an arbitrary IP telephone after recording it when the user of the IP telephone of the call destination is absent and the user of the other IP telephone substitutingly receives the message. SOLUTION: The IP telephone 12 is provided with a transfer processing means 30 which is composed of a call destination storage means 34, a message storage means 32 for storing the message of the transmitter, and a message transfer means 33; and an operation part 26 which has a specifying means for allowing the transfer processing means 30 to execute transfer processing. When the IP telephone 12 substitutingly receives an incoming call to the IP telephone of the call destination, the message of the transmitter is stored in the message storage means 32. When the transfer processing is specified from the operation part 26, the message transfer means 33 transfers the message stored in the message storage means 32 to the IP telephone whose telephone number is stored as the call destination in the call destination storage means 34.
